Talking Daggers and Pain a Sinfully Fun Build

Daggers and Pain a Sinfully Fun Build

I was running this build last night with great success in RA. Now it is not Uber in any sense, but it is high pace and is a huge pressure on healers. It can take out Warriors as they run to you, and sometime before they can take a swing at you. Elementalist, Necromancers, Sins, and Mesmers without protection will drop very fast. Monks and Ritualists have to switch there healing to themselves leaving all other targets open to your team. Dervs are harder because of there enchantments but if you are tag teaming one with another party member they do feel the heat. Never had the pleasure against a Paragon. And last but not least Rangers seem to always last a long time do to armor, but nonetheless they will feel the pressure. The great thing is you can keep your caster weapons and not have to get in touch range of anything. Conditions/shut down can be a trick, but hopefully you can take down your opponent before he gets a chance to shut you down. If you are in trouble you can copy shadow refuge it will enable you to keep up the healing for a long time. Most will lose interest in you once they notice they can not kill you right away.

How to use this build. Wait a second as the opposing team is selecting targets (That awkward 10-20 seconds or so before they attack) open your attack with conjure nightmare on a warrior derv or caster (If targeting a sin wait till he has started his chain on someone). Use Echo then Dancing Daggers then Dancing Daggers then Entangling Asp then Signet of Toxic then Dancing Daggers then Dancing Daggers (target is usually dead by now but if not continue) then Auspicious then conjure nightmare (yes it is a duplicate but you need energy) then Dancing Daggers then Dancing Daggers. Get the idea?

Mesmer / Assassin
Deadly Arts 12
Illusion (How long you want nightmare to last?)
Inspiration (Your Choice even just a few points will keep you full of energy)
Fast Casting (Left over points it does not need to be to high no long casting spells)

[skill]echo[/skill] [skill]dancing daggers[/skill] [skill]entangling asp[/skill] [skill]conjure nightmare[/skill] [skill]signet of toxic shock[/skill] [skill]Auspicious Incantation[/skill] [skill]shadow refuge[/skill] [skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

Try this out it is pretty fun

I am bumping this old post to show what I have come up with for PVP RA. It seems to be a viable build and lets you go toe to toe with melee and pressure the heck out of casters.

[skill]dancing daggers[/skill] [skill]entangling asp[/skill] [skill]signet of toxic shock[/skill] [skill]signet of midnight[/skill] [skill]signet of shadows[/skill] [skill]drain enchantment[/skill] [skill]shadow refuge[/skill] [skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

Of course condition removal is bad thing for you, but you can 95% of the time get the signet damage in before the condition is removed

And you can even dust off some inspiration weapons to use with this build.

Why aren't you using Augury of Death? Drop Shadow Refuge and slot in Augury.

Good start to improve that build would be removal of shaddow refuge for Ether Feast - less attributes to spread to, less conditional and more eficient heal.

How about E/A or A/E

[skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Augury of Death[/skill][skill]Blinding Surge[/skill][skill]Signet of Shadows[/skill][skill]Dancing Daggers[/skill][skill]Entangling Asp[/skill][skill]Signet of Toxic Shock[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Alternatively, drop Glyph for a self-heal, [skill]Gale[/skill] or [skill]Slippery Ground[/skill].

If you really want to spike as a Mesmer, try doing the [skill]Enchanter's Conundrum[/skill]+[skill]Shatter Delusions[/skill] + [skill]Shatter Enchantment[/skill] combo with [skill]Augury of Death[/skill] ?

Don’t get me wrong I like ether feast when i am casting from afar. A down side is you have to have a target for it to work. What if you kill your target away from the balance of the group and you have a condition on you? Minor problem yes but it does occur. One plus for shadows is it gives 8 pips of regeneration for 6 seconds and only a 2 second down time it can help offset conditions a bit (No this does not mean it is a great skill but it does help when you get poisoned etc.. )

Tried it in place of drain enchantment it does speed up the fun a bit, but I needed an energy return and draining an enchantment is always a plus.

I like the Mesmer better then elementalist for this, and at first I was running an echo dancing dagger combo. Also not many suspect a Mesmer to run up to a melee for in your face shutdown. It is fun to see a sin shadow step in to try and kill you only to be blinded and there skill chain ruined.

Also you have to try Glyph of Immolation mixed with Steam it Blinds right away and leaves you with another choice of elite I was running a water mage with it. It is a fun spiking build and how the heck does water burn ?
